More than endpoint management

Modern Workplace is about more than configuring Intune.

My background spans infrastructure, servers, networking, virtualisation and enterprise endpoint management. That foundation gives me an understanding of the systems surrounding the endpoint — identity, certificates, networking, security and the legacy infrastructure that organisations often need to transition away from.

Over more than ten years in IT, I've progressed from infrastructure engineering through enterprise endpoint management and senior engineering into Modern Workplace consulting.

Today, I use that experience to help customers solve the practical problems involved in moving towards modern, cloud-managed environments.

What I work with

• Endpoint Management

  Microsoft Intune, MECM/SCCM, Windows Autopilot, co-management, Windows 10/11, application deployment, configuration management, compliance and remediation.

• Identity & Security

  Microsoft Entra ID, Conditional Access, compliance-based device trust, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, PKI and certificate services.

• Automation

  PowerShell tooling for discovery, migration and operational tasks, together with reusable Intune Remediations designed to solve security and configuration requirements at scale.

• Modernisation

  SCCM-to-Intune migration, cloud-native endpoint transformation, Autopilot, Entra Join and the transition from traditional infrastructure towards Modern Workplace services.

Experience at scale

My career has taken me through internal IT, education technology, NHS shared services, managed services and consulting.

Within the NHS, I worked in an environment supporting more than 16,000 endpoints and 20,000 users, developing from infrastructure engineering into enterprise endpoint management.

I later became Technical Lead for a portfolio of customers within an MSP environment, assessing customer environments and providing technical recommendations to IT teams, directors and other stakeholders.

Today, as a Modern Workplace Consultant, I deliver customer projects spanning SCCM infrastructure, SCCM-to-Intune migration, Cloud PKI, Conditional Access, endpoint security and cloud-native transformation.

How I approach engineering

I like to understand why something works, not simply which setting makes it work.

Modern endpoint management increasingly sits at the intersection of identity, security, networking, certificates, automation and user experience. When something fails, the answer isn't always in Intune — and understanding the systems around it often makes the difference.

That infrastructure background continues to shape the way I approach Modern Workplace engineering: understand the environment, identify the dependencies, automate where it makes sense, and build solutions that can be supported after the project is finished.

Continuous development

My specialism is Modern Workplace, but I deliberately maintain a broader view of the Microsoft ecosystem.

I'm continuing to develop my knowledge across identity, security, Azure, Windows 365, Azure Virtual Desktop and infrastructure-as-code, while building on practical experience across Intune, MECM, Entra ID and PowerShell.
